UPDATE: They contacted me within a few days of this post and got me in to do an exam again (which took over an hour). Three weeks later I am still waiting to hear if they will do the touch up. Apparently they can fix my seeing far away or near, but not both. However it is the doctors decision...and when I called the person couldn't find my chart. Let's see if they call me back when they find it...
I was very happy with the whole process. I had no issues with personal assistance and everybody was kind. Thank you Dr. Allen you did an awesome job.
I had a very good experience with the LASIK Vision Institute. All staff were very professional, friendly and caring. I would recommend their services to anyone.
DO NOT GO THERE. I had a PRK surgery in 2001 with them. And now I do not see well. When I called and asked for an eye visit and possibly an improvement. They told me I have to pay $100 for an eye visit and pay for the surgery again. The way it was explained to me and my wife in 2001 is once you pay you are covered for the improvement anytime. The other really unethical practice is: in 2001 when I had the surgery. The only time I saw Dr. Ireland the surgeon is the day of the surgery when they put me with four or five more people same time in the same room and Dr. Ireland the surgeon came in and talk to all of us without having any privacy and totally disregarding HIPAA privacy laws. When I called last week this practice is still going on. Honestly this place should be looked at by the State of Wisconsin because that is not right. Anybody who cares about their eyes do not go there. That is the summary of how I feel and my experience.
UPDATE 2: Yea! I get the procedure/fix! Still a hassle but I am happy they are keeping their word.
UPDATE 3: Again as I said before, don't waste your time and money on touch up for life. I had my touch up in February and am back to wearing glasses at the same prescription as I was at the beginning of the year. They said they would call after talking to the surgeon again but of course a month later no call.
I had the surgery and it was great. I do the eye exam every year and send to them. Earlier this year when I had my exam done, it was determined that I needed glasses again. When I contacted them for my "touch up" I paid for, I was told that my eyes were not bad enough to touch up. No where in anything they gave me does it say my eyes had to be at a certain level for touch up. I'm sorry but if I need glasses again it needs to be fixed. Don't waste your mo eye on the touch up scam!!!!
I had Lasik surgery 10 years ago from Lasik Vision Institute and was very happy with the outcome. I need it to be touched up so I scheduled a consultation to see what the costs would be. I don't remember if there was any guarantees on my initial procedure but I was fine with paying for the touch-up. When I got there for my appointment I was told that a free consultation is for new patients only and since I was an existing patient there was a $99 fee. Why do I have to pay a fee to get an estimate on services? I recently had granite countertops installed in my kitchen and was not charged a fee for the estimate. Why does Lasik Vision Institute treat potential new patients better than existing patients?
