After going through several shoddy vacuums purchased from Wal-Mart, we decided to finally go and get a nice, solid vacuum from a reputable name brand. Spent about $260 all in all, everything was fine until the vacuum broke. We took it back in because it had a 5 year warranty, and found out the motor had burned out. What's more, they don't make that vacuum anymore, so there are no replacements or replacement parts.
Took my Hoover in for warranty repairs and they actually had the vacuum fixed within 15 minutes, no charge. While I was waiting I found they also sell e-cloths which I love! Very kind and helpful. Thank you!!
It took over a month later for the warranty replacement to come in. We have two dogs and three kids under age 5. Our floors get dirty.
Super fast service. Stopped for belts-was in and out in less than 5 mins.
I cannot recommend purchasing any Oreck product if this is how it works.
The replacement is a $140 Wal-Mart Hoover.
Edit: the replacement vacuum arrived broken. I wish I was making this up. When I returned it to the store, the district manager and the store manager were present. Neither of them could help to make this right. I've also dealt with Oreck's online customer support. They were unable to help me. This is some of the worst customer service I've received from any company I've dealt with. This repeated pattern makes it clear that they don't value their customers.
At the end of the day, we lost over $100 to get a vacuum we were trying to avoid.
