I didn't realize the damage until I washed my hair the following day. It was a long wedding day, so I went right to bed after taking all the pins out and throwing it in a bun. I thought it was crunchy from hair stray. NOPE.)
This place is huge and can be overwhelming unless you know exactly what you're looking for. But the employees are happy to help you find things. I like that there is a wide price range of products.
BURNED.
I just had to have it cut into a pixie cut. I went from past shoulder length hair to a pixie cut.
As soon as I got it wet, it smelled like burnt hair, and did for the following weeks every time I went to condition treat it. My regular stylist gave me different conditioning treatments and I did coconut oil heat treatments. My hair was still fried and breaking off.
Once she started working on my hair, I had to keep asking for corrections, like asking to smooth out bumps... She also melted a bobby pin container with the curling iron.
I love Ulta but just shop online if you want to shop there. The employees are either one of two things either completely ignore you or way too pushy. Online you'll still be able to get all their awesome deals without a stress-free shopping trip.
DO NOT GO TO HER.
Very helpful and knowledgeable staff. Love all the small goodies for stocking stuffers this time of year! Teresa was a great help in finding the right foundation.
The updo was falling out on the drive to the mother of the bride's house, so the other bridesmaids had to fix it. $66 to have the low side-bun fall out.
The general manager at Ulta refunded me the cost of the updo, and was very apologetic, but I'm still heartbroken.
Liz the salon manager should not be touching people's hair.

I loved my hair.
I could forgive all of this, however:
I couldn't smell it at the time due to all of the hairspray and product, but she actually damaged and burned my hair, which was past my shoulders in length. I do not dye my hair, rarely blow dry it and take extremely good care of it, getting regular trims etc.
Staff is always huddled together laughing and it feels like you are interrupting them to ask a question. Also not very friendly when you do finally decide you must ask a question. Very disappointed and this is not the first time-more like the 6th that they stand around as a group talking.
I had an updo scheduled as part of a bridal party. My appointment was with stylist and salon manager, Liz. She was 20 minutes late to start on my hair, despite being on time. She was working on someone going to homecoming.
